Reignite Wisdom and Wellness© Program

Purpose: Engage and Share Wisdom

In these experiential and interactive learning sessions, residents will learn how to “Ignite the Fire Within” to nurture their spirit, heart, mind, and body.  We will engage with a variety of creative, vibrant and inspiring activities with the intention to exponentially maximize the wisdom we all have within to master an active life style focused on cognitive/physical health, emotional engagement and wellness.

Life Transitions with Ease

Purpose: Engage seniors and families to reflect and prepare themselves to face transitions with ease.

In these experiential and interactive learning sessions, seniors and family members will recognize life’s transitions as part of a natural process. By understanding the meaning of the different phases and transitions in their lives, they will realized that the changes at this new phase of their lives may be new, however the process of making transition is familiar and already known by them. They will make transitions with ease mastering a meaningful active lifestyle focused on cognitive/physical health, emotional engagement and wellness.

Personal History Life Map and Story Telling

Purpose: Create and share personal history life map.

Older adults will engage in a reminiscence journey to capture in a creative way their chronological history life map which will include life facts, meaningful memories, locations they lived, historical facts, social-economic facts, and important people present in their lives.  In addition, older adults will present their history map in a story telling format, sharing their accomplishments, insights, memories lived and cherished.

  • Sharpen their mind by remembering life facts and memories from infancy through present time.
  • Stimulate creativity by encouraging older adults to use original and artistic ways to express themselves during the creation of their life maps.
  • Sharpen communication skills by engaging and sharing life stories.
  • Build a sense of community by learning other older adults life’s stories.
  •  Strengthen connection and engagement by building relationships with self and others.
  • Reveal life lessons learned.
  • Celebrate and cherish a completion of a personal memoir.

  • 5 sessions

Community Engagement: Give and Receive

Purpose: Inspire and engage older adults to be active participants in their community.

Older adults  will identify area of interest and reach out to engage in activities at their local community venues such as schools, churches, daycare facilities, Chambers of Commerce, etc. First, participants will connect with what brings meaning and purpose to their lives. Once inspired and clear of what they would like to engage with, participants will explore possibilities and create a game plan to bring their projects alive.

Possible Community Engagements:

  • Give lectures on a topic of their expertise.
  • Support a teacher in a classroom.
  • Speak at career day.
  • Tutor students.
  • Create products to be donated to people in need.
  • Collaborate with family members or friends to give a presentation in the community on topics based on talent, skills and interests.
